Sports Facility Caretaker at Unit Malmö

Job Responsibilities

As a sports facility caretaker at Unit Malmö, you will work with a variety of tasks that include the maintenance of the city's sports facilities in the southern part of Malmö. You and your colleagues ensure that our premises, as well as green and activity areas, are in good condition so that Malmö residents and active associations have the best conditions to carry out their activities. The work is varied, and you are expected to work both independently and as part of a team. At times, the work can be physically challenging.

Examples of job responsibilities include:

• Maintenance of green areas, including upkeep of grass and artificial turf fields and other activity areas, as well as various additional maintenance tasks.
• Establish and maintain good contact and provide service to associations and the public using our facilities.
• Facility care in the form of supervision and maintenance of premises, reporting issues, and opening and closing our facilities.
• Cleaning: indoors in changing rooms/showers and toilets, as well as outdoor cleaning at our facilities.

The working hours for this position are scheduled, including evening and weekend shifts every fourth week.

Qualifications

We require that you have a high school diploma or other education and/or experience that the employer deems equivalent. You also need a B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle to work with us.

You have previously worked in caretaking, maintenance of green areas, and upkeep of grass and/or artificial turf fields. Experience in cleaning is also an advantage. If you have training in green area maintenance and cleaning, that is a plus.

To succeed in this role, we believe you are a responsible, flexible person with good teamwork skills. Providing excellent service is a given for you, as you will meet Malmö residents and associations in this role. Therefore, you also need to communicate in Swedish and have basic computer skills.

About the Workplace

The workplace – Unit Malmö. Unit Malmö belongs to the operations department of the leisure administration and includes five sections with a total of about 80 employees and five section managers. Unit Malmö works to meet Malmö residents in the same way and with the same service throughout the city. We collaborate with various stakeholders such as associations, the events department, and the booking function with the goal of delivering high-quality service to all who use or visit the leisure administration's facilities.
